Eleanor Hoppe recently moved to Milwaukee, and is exploring the natural wonders of the midwest between Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River. She spent 30 years at First Pres Hollywood, an intergenerational faith community that emphasized care for folks on the margins. While there, she taught children’s Sunday School and women’s Bible study, served as an elder, and worked with people preparing for ministry. Mom to three grown kids, she is particularly grateful for the gift of unschooling them for a time. Speaking of Jesus by Carl Medearis and the video Godspeed: The Pace of Being Known were pivotal in expanding Eleanor’s concept of faith. Eleanor completed Stillpoint’s Art of Spiritual Direction and Group Spiritual Direction training, and currently co-facilitates one of the Journey classes.
